Unorthodox Prayer

She said God, as if that were my name

Saying prayers to the heavens

as if her very soul were begging

and her gates quaked from her bodies strain

Saying prayers to the heavens

but there are no questions in her facial expressions

And with the sweat dripping as if under a flame,

she said God, as if that were my name

As she whispered her blessings,

saying her prayers to heaven

She said God, as if that were my name

And she knew, that feeling, I felt the same
